Architecture, engineering and design-build firms can now receive a financial incentive as compensation for time spent helping non-residential Ameren Illinois customers integrate energy efficiency into their new construction projects through the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program. The New Construction Design Team Incentive is based on square footage of the new construction facility:
- ≤ 15,000 interior square feet: $1,000
- > 15,000 interior square feet: $4,000
How to Participate:
- Submit Applications for Preapproval:
- Complete the Design Team Incentive application and the New Construction application.
- These applications can be found in the Business Forms Library.
- Wait for the preapproval letter before purchasing any materials or generating purchase orders.
- Purchase and Install Approved Equipment:
- Once you receive the preapproval letter, proceed with purchasing and installing the approved equipment.
- If you need to change the scope of work, contact a Program representative to discuss the impact on your incentive and the necessary steps to request changes.
- Submit Incentive Payment Request:
- After completing the New Construction project, submit the Incentive Payment Request Form.
- Your final application paperwork will be reviewed, and if approved, the incentive will be paid within 60 days.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Projects must include custom efficiency measures beyond standard lighting.
- The Design Team Incentive application must be submitted along with the New Construction application.
- Measures must be installed by an Illinois Commerce Commission-Approved Certified Installer or self-installed by an employee of the expected Ameren Illinois account holder.
