Breaking Down Barriers

The Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program strives to increase the number of diverse people working in energy efficiency jobs by breaking down barriers to employment, providing individual services and support, training, coaching and other resources to prepare jobseekers for joining the energy efficiency workforce.

Workforce Development Resources

In partnership with Springfield Urban League, the Energy Efficiency Jobs Board is a free resource center for both jobseekers and employers. Jobseekers are able to see available positions in energy efficiency and employers are able to post their job openings for additional exposure. The Jobs Board is available for everyone from entry level to advanced positions!

The Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program provides funding to employers that support internship opportunities for people looking to start their careers in energy efficiency. For more information about the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Summer Internship Program, click here.

The Market Development Initiative partners with community colleges throughout the Ameren Illinois service territory to award scholarships to diverse students pursuing education in a field related to energy efficiency. Click on each link below for more information about scholarships at each community college partner school.

Education brings opportunities, and Ameren Illinois is working with community colleges across the state to bring energy efficiency opportunities to students studying areas such as HVAC, Construction Management, and more. Ameren Illinois is currently partnered with:
