Financial incentives for energy-efficient equipment upgrades are available for a variety of new construction projects.
Energy is among the largest expenses for commercial buildings. By incorporating energy efficiency into the design and build process, you can lower operating costs and maximize the comfort and safety of building occupants.

How to Apply
There are two ways to apply for New Construction incentives. For faster processing of lighting projects, you can use the online application.
Pre-approval is required for ALL new construction projects. Contact your Energy Advisor or call 1.866.800.0747 to confirm project eligibility before generating purchase orders or purchasing new equipment.
Additional requirements include:
- Installed equipment must exceed baseline code requirements for energy efficiency.
- Contractors must be Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) certified.
- Lighting equipment must be Design Lights Consortium (DLC) qualified or ENERGY STAR
Commercial New Construction Design Assistance
Your facility can also receive complimentary energy design assistance and financial incentives to help offset the cost of implementing energy-efficient strategies for commercial and multifamily buildings.Â
In addition to the construction incentive, a design team participation incentive is available to offset design team time associated with program participation.
